Bringing High-Quality Treger Products Closer to Communities
Bulawayo, Zimbabwe – June 28, 2025 — Treger Traders marked a significant milestone with the grand opening of its brand-new retail outlet in Entumbane, Bulawayo. This shop becomes the fourth Treger Traders outlet in Bulawayo, with the other three successfully operating in Harare. Strategically located next to the Entumbane bus terminus—a hub for transport routes to areas such as Binga and Hwange—the shop is designed to serve not only Entumbane residents but also customers from Njube, Lobengula, Magwegwe, Emakhandeni, Luveve, Mpopoma, and Cowdray Park.
High Demand Leads to Strategic Expansion
The decision to open a shop in Entumbane followed a surge in demand, primarily fueled by the success of van sales in the area. According to Clayton Foto, Lead Sales Generator at Treger Traders, the consistent support from Cowdray Park and Entumbane residents made it evident that a physical store was necessary. Van sales continue to reach outlying regions such as Plumtree and Filabusi, expanding the Treger footprint.
Local radio station Skyz Metro FM covered the event live throughout the day. Popular presenter Nonceba ‘Ncepsie’ Mnkandla engaged with multiple key figures including Mr. Gwambu, Mr. Foto, and Miss Kundai, a Treger Products merchandiser. Discussions touched on product availability, logistics, and innovation. Miss Kundai emphasized on-time delivery,
affordability, and export success to countries like South Africa, Zambia, and Botswana. She also shared updates on product development, mentioning the popular “Lobola Set”—a culturally tailored cookware bundle—and the grow bag from the Zimbabwe Grain Bag division, which supports household agriculture while conserving water.
Mr T. Gwambu Entumbane Shop Manager
The new store is managed by Mr. Thomas Gwambu, a fluent speaker of Tonga, Shona, and Ndebele—the dominant languages in the region. His cultural and linguistic fluency ensures
the store remains highly accessible and community-oriented. Mr. Gwambu expressed his excitement at the opening and highlighted the positive impact the store would have, particularly emphasizing beloved products like the Kango black-bellied pots, a favorite among local women.
In addition to Treger staff, Nonceba also interviewed customers who had made purchases on the day. Many expressed heartfelt appreciation for the shop’s convenient location and product range. One enthusiastic customer highlighted how thrilled he was to buy buckets for his two wives, stating that it would now be easier to provide for their needs with the store nearby. Another shopper, a woman traveling from Howmine to Lobengula, said she noticed the shop’s banner and decided to explore. To her surprise, she found everything she needed under one roof and applauded Treger Traders for delivering high-quality products so close to home. Many customers praised the shop’s affordability, product quality, and central location, expressing joy and support for Treger’s growing presence in Bulawayo.
